Everyone has raved about this mascara and I was kind of on the fence about spending $29 on a mascara. Fortunately I was able to get the "sample size" as part of Sephora's birthday present to their Beauty Insiders.
So the sample size of Benefit's They're Real Mascara is quite large for a sample (0.14 oz or 4.14ml) of product. They actually sell the smaller size for $12.
I usually don't have a problem with mascaras but I really didn't like this one! I mean really didn't like it. I feel like it's so overrated!
I liked the mascara in theory, I mean the brush is unique (like Covergirls lash blast brush), think plastic bristles - but the truth is that it's SO clumpy.
I applied ONE coat and it was just so heavy and weighed my eyelashes down and it looked like I had applied like 3 coats on.
I wore it though out the day, only to notice it flaking.
It claims to lengthen, volumize, curl, and define your lashes but it did none of that to my eyelashes. Even after I carefully curled my lashes, this mascara just weighed my lashes down and undid the curl.
I tried to give it another chance but ended up having to remove it and replace it with Maybelline Falsies, which I think is a much better and definitely much more affordable product.
I really really really wanted to love this product, it just didn't work out with my lashes unfortunately.
