GHD Hair Straightener

Forget Conair, Chi, T3, or any other kind of hair straightener...

GHD is the way to go!

Let me tell you, I've had my fair share of hair straighteners, from Conair (such a waste of money), to Chi's and Cortex's!

Conair was just garbage - I don't even want to talk about it, I then upgraded to a CHI but that burned out on me, and then got a Cortex, which was good but when I travelled to Europe and used a converter, it burned out on me also.

Which lead me to get a GHD, after much research. This is a $200 hair straightener, and that price is kinda like YIKES but it's so worth it! I think that the best time to buy it is when they have collections. I was able to get the Katy Perry Gold Professional Collection and it came with the GHD Gold Professional flat iron, a couple hair dividing clips, and a heat protectant bag I believe (I bought it in 2011, and the whole thing was $220 at the most)

GHD's literally make your hair feel so silky, heats up in 10 seconds, and adjusts its temperature to whatever temperature is right for your hair. Oh, and it also turns itself off if you've left it on but haven't used it after 30 minutes (no need to worry about burning your house down!)

GHD's also just straighten your hair when you just slide it down your hair in one try, so there's no need to go over the same sections of hair over and over again (which is the leading cause of damaged hair/split ends). It's also versatile, so it can curl, straighten, and create waves in your hair (great tool for travelling). AND it is adaptable for voltage changes (which means that it will work with converters and not burn out)

When I had a Conair/Chi/Cortex, it would take my 20 to 30 minutes to straighten my hair, but with a GHD it takes me under 5 minutes......

Another bonus to GHD's is that they come with a 2 year warranty, but you're probably not going to need it because I've had mine for 3 years and haven't had any problems with it so far - I have friends who have had theres for 8 years and they're still going strong!

Note - I just checked the Sephora website and realized that they have increased the price of the GHD's like crazy! The classic 1' inch GHD Flat Iron is $225 (when it used to be $185), the Gold Professional is $270 (when it used to be around $220), and the collections are $282 (when I literally paid $220 with tax).... Odd.....

Anyways, please be careful when buying this product - only buy from authorized retailers like Sephora, or the GHD website - although Folica sells GHD's they are not authorized sellers! There are a lot of fakes out there, that are poorly made and they are made in China (where the real ones are made in Korea) and etc. Who knows what they can do, a circuit could blow and cause a fire, and they could really damage your hair. So be careful!!
