Since there is no fruit juice in Vitamin Water it means that the water is vitamin-fortified with synthetic vitamins. Check the ingredient label, "cane sugar" is the second ingredient behind water and if you look at the Nutrition facts, you'll see that there is 32 grams of sugar. (I am using the Vitamin Water Orange-Orange) as an example.
What really fools people is when they look at the Nutrition Fats and see that the Orange-Orange Vitamin Water has 250% Vitamin C, 10% Calcium, 35% Vitamin E, 30% Vitamin B6, 20% Niacin, 45% Folate, 35% Pantothenate, and 40% Zinc.
Is this better than drinking soda? Yes. But this should in no means be part of an everyday healthy diet. If you really want that Vitamin C, just drink a glass of water and eat an orange and get the vitamins in a natural, not fortified way.
