Plus White Teeth Whitening System

Wednesday, January 8, 2014

One of the cheapest and best teeth whitening systems out there is hands down the Plus White Teeth Whitening System.

You can get it at places such as Walmart and Amazon (I personally have bought mine off amazon because I live in Canada and I couldn't find it in store at Walmart, and I know that Walmart carries it online but it's always out of stock). This retails for around $7 - $8 and it's way cheaper and more efficient than white strips or any other kind of "professional whitening"

WHAT YOU NEED

So to get those pearly white teeth you need two things:

The Whitening Gel

and some clear mouth guards (which are like $2)

What you do with the mouth guards is soak them in a cup of hot water (boiling hot) for around 4-5 seconds take them out and mould them into your teeth by pressing around the edges and sucking in air. After that you can let it cool or run it under ice cold water so it stays it's shape and then your done.

PROCESS

Before you apply the gel to your teeth, you want to make sure that you brush and floss your teeth in order to make sure that there is no food or plaque on your teeth that could affect how the whitening process will whiten your teeth. You can also rinse your mouth with mouthwash. After that I usually just wipe my teeth dry so that the gel has a surface to stick to.

You only have to apply a pea size amount onto your top and bottom teeth, you don't need to apply the gel to your back teeth, the front 6 should be enough since that is the only visible part of your teeth when you smile anyways.

You should see and feel the gel foam a bit, and you will have to spit out the foam (try not to swallow it).

Leaving it on for around 10 to 25 minutes should be good enough. When you're first starting to whiten your teeth they recommend that you do it twice a day for 2 weeks (14 days) and then just once a week from there on. Everyone has different teeth sensitivity so adjust how much you whiten accordingly, I've honestly never had a problem with the plus white gel and I've left it on for 35 minutes one time.

After the 2 week period, I usually whiten my teeth once or twice a week for around 20 minutes just to keep my teeth white.

If you leave it on too long, you'll definitely feel some teeth sensitivity (zings - I can't exactly describe what they are but if you get one, you'll know that you had a zing)

After you have left in on for an appropriate amount of time, take the mouth guards out, rinse your mouth and mouth guards with regular temperature water for around 30 seconds (too cold water can cause your teeth to be sensitive and too hot water can melt your mouth guards), and you can brush your teeth after if you'd like. Just make sure that your mouth guards don't have any gel left on them. After that, just leave your mouth guards to air dry and your teeth should be looking a lot brighter and whiter than before!

MAINTAINING YOUR WHITE TEETH

You have to remember that once you whiten your teeth, they will be more sustainable to stains, so try to steer clear of red wine, coffee, black tea, anything with caffeine. If you want to drink a soda, Root Beer despite the colour is actually the least staining on your teeth. Try to drink everything with a straw, and rinse your mouth out with water after drinking something that will probably stain your teeth.
