Low Calorie Starbucks Drinks with Caffeine

Sunday, December 15, 2013

Lattes, cappuccinos and milk based coffee drinks are high in calories especially lattes, as a latte has 2 or 3 shots of espresso and the rest is just steamed milk. A white chocolate mocha can have up to 470 calories (made with 2% milk, and whipped cream)!
If you're trying to cut back on calories or watch your calorie intake, stay away from Lattes, Cappuccinos, and especially Frappuccinos (such as a Java Chip Frappuccino - they are a weakness but just have way too many calories for a drink!)

Here are a list of low-calorie drinks at Starbucks that will still give you caffeine to keep you awake and energized! Also for iced drinks, remember to ask to have it made with light ice to get the most "drink" for your buck (because they add so much ice I feel like I'm not getting enough of the actual "drink).

Also this lists the calories for GRANDE sized drinks

Iced Americano - 15 calories

A grande has three espresso shots and the rest is filled with water and ice - if you find that it is too strong for you, add in one or two splendas!

Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher - 70 Calories

Cool Lime Refresher - 50 Calories

The Cool Lime Refresher is probably one of my favourite drinks - it has a very refreshing taste to it and I could drink these every day

Valencia Orange Refresher - 90 calories

CaffĂ© Misto made with Nonfat Milk - 70 calories

A misto is half coffee (normally pike) and half steamed milk

Iced Coffee with NO MILK and UNSWEETENED - 5 Calories

Iced Coffee with Nonfat Milk and Unsweetened - 25 calories

Iced Coffee with Nonfat milk and with Sweetener - 110 calories

- They use their Classic Syrup to sweeten, and use 4 pumps - so if you find that you need a bit of sweetener you can ask to have 2 pumps (half sweetened) or just use splenda.
- I know that 110 calories isn't exactly a "low-calorie" drink but I just listed the calories on the classic iced coffee just to show how much calories getting your drink sweetened will add vs. getting it unsweeted
