Starbucks Peppermint Mocha "Dupe" Recipe

Sunday, November 17, 2013

The frequent trips to Starbucks can get expensive, especially if you get those hand crafted lattes/mochas (they're pretty much $5 each..)

I've created this Peppermint Mocha "Dupe" Recipe that actually tastes quite similar to the Peppermint Mocha and it doesn't involve any syrups or anything.

This recipe doesn't really have that many ingredients, it's actually quite simple, so here's what you need.

- 4 After Eight Chocolate Mints
- a little bit of milk
- espresso, made from an espresso machine (or you can just use coffee)

So what you do, is pour however much milk you desire into a mug (around 1/4,1/3 of a cup) and put it into the microwave to warm the milk. What I like to do is heat it for about 20 seconds, stir it, and so on until it gets to a hot temperature.

Then, I put an After Eight Chocolate in, one by one (it will melt, and it also tastes SO good).

Make your espresso as per instructed on your espresso machine. (I have a Cuisinart Manual Espresso machine, andI just make about two shots of espresso)

I then pour the espresso into the chocolate mixture, and then you have a Peppermint Mocha!

You can add whipped cream and add in some peppermint candy canes if you wish, to make it more festive!
