Tips for Online Shopping

Everyone loves shopping, especially online shopping. But in this world, all you need to do is pull out your credit card and buy whatever you want - which can cause a lot of problems. So I'm going to list a couple tips of saving money/limiting purchases online!

Tip #1:

Use Visa Debit Cards instead of the typical Visa Credit Card Card

Visa Debit cards are better than Credit Cards because they allow you to make purchases online, but the funds come directly out of your chequings/savings account instead of paying off a balance.

Using Visa Debit cards will ensure that you don't spend money you don't have!

Tip #2:

Whenever buying anything online, try to find online coupon code (usually around 10% off total orders)

Sites like retailmenot, and bargainmoose, and many more offer coupon codes that will take a certain percentage off your total order.

Also, coupon codes for free shipping are helpful because shipping can be expensive.

Tip #3:

Sign up for email subscriptions to online stores like Aldo, Forever 21, ELF, Daily Look, etc...

They send you emails on sales, free shipping, clearances and so on. Also, some stores give you a discount for signing up, like Aldo gives a 10% discount for signing up for Aldo Emails.

And Forever 21 occasionally has Buy 1 Get 1 Free or 50% off clearance, so wait for sales like that instead of just paying full price. 

Tip #4

Timing.

I find that clothes/shoes/makeup/whatever is cheapest: Boxing Day Week, Black Friday (pretty much the month of November and December) and August (Back to School) - like if your going to buy a macbook, wait until the summer because they usually give a student discount & a $100 giftcard to the App store and some year they even gave out an iPod. So timing is everything. Also cellphone plans are the cheapest in July - I don't know why but I guess a lot of people sign contracts in the summer for new phones and they always have amazing plans in the summer (Bell: $60 6GB Data....)
