CND Nail Polish Review

Sunday, January 18, 2015

This review is on the CND Vinylux Nail polish, which is a nail polish line that is designed to be a a 7-day no-chip nail polish with no nail lamps, no base coat, and have strong durability.

I am using the colour Gotcha which is a lovely light/medium pink colour, that is sheer at first, but gets opaque after two - three coats.

This is what it looks like with one coat.

And this is what it looks like with two coats.

The instructions say to follow the Vinylux nail polish with the Vinylux top coat for best results, but naturally I didn't because I didn't want to go out and buy it.

I have to say that this nail polish did last three days without chips (maybe it would have lasted longer if I had used the Vinylux top coat). But three days is really good for me because I am super hard on my nails and have had gel manicures chip the next day.

However, a downside to the Vinylux nail polish line is that I did notice that it made my nails a lot weaker and more brittle than they were before. Not a huge problem, but just a thing a noticed.

Lululemon Cotton Wunder Unders Update

Wednesday, January 14, 2015

I posted a glowing review of the Lululemon Cotton Wunder Unders a few months ago (the review can be viewed here). But last week I ran into a bit of a hiccup with them.

My friend pointed out that there was a HOLE in my cotton Wunder Unders. How could that be?, these are $92 leggings, and that's the last thing I would ever expect from these leggings.

Obviously upset, I contacted customer service (which is something that I feel like I've been doing a lot recently....), and they recommended the usual "step into your local Lululemon Store and a sales person would love to assist you." So I went, and ended up swapping the Cotton Wunder Unders with a hole in them for a brand new pair, in the same size and same colour.

I am absolutely grateful for their amazing and understanding customer service however, I think I am going to step away from buying Lululemon products for a while, as contacting customer service for defective quality products basically like 4 times in the past year is definitely unacceptable in my opinion, and I'd much rather spend my money on actual quality products that can live up to its name.

Lululemon Forme Jacket Review

I bought the Lululemon Forme Jacket II in June last year (2014). And initially, I loved it. It is form flattering (hence the name Forme), and really sucks in any fatness you can possibly have going on in the stomach area. It makes you look very sleek and slim and fabulous!

To start off with sizing, I definitely sized up for this jacket because I wanted to be able to wear tshirts or long sleeves underneath it. I normally am a dead on size 4 when it comes to lululemon tops, but decided to size up for the Forme.

As you can see in the picture below, the sleeves are very long, and there is a thumbhole for you to put your thumb through (which is convenient when it is cold). Otherwise, the sleeves are too long, and I spend most of the time in my jacket with them folded so that the length hits my wrist.

So after around 4 months of having this jacket, I noticed that it was pilling like crazy (I wish I took pictures to post) but it was pilling really bad on the left sleeve and on both underarms which started to worry me about Lululemon's quality, since a $120 jacket shouldn't be pilling after 4 months of casual wear (maybe 2x a week), and proper care (washing on the gentle cycle, no fabric softener, and with other luon materials). I then contacted Lululemon customer service who was very understanding and asked that I go to a Lululemon store for a jacket swap.

So I went to the Lululemon store, and unfortunately they didn't have any Forme's in store, but they did have a Define, which I ended up getting. I love that jacket so far and will post a review later on once the jacket has been worn enough to write a review on.

Oven Baked French Fries Recipe

Sunday, June 15, 2014

I didn't come up with this recipe, 100% credit goes to Laura Vitale, who I recently just subscribed to on YouTube.

Here is the link to the recipe:

http://www.laurainthekitchen.com/recipes/best-oven-fries/

I followed her instructions to a T, and they came out very crunchy and yummy. If you want to have and eat perfectly crunchy OVEN BAKED french fries, you should definitely try this recipe out!

The potatoes after they were washed.

The potatoes soaking in water to get the starch out.

The final product! yum!
