How to Save Money in University

Friday, September 7, 2012

So university is expensive enough right with the tuition being raised ridiculously every year... I have friends who are paying close to 10 grande a year (for engineering undergrad) but still that's ridiculous.

Textbooks are always an underestimated cost towards university.
But I have a great tip for people who are ready to start saving money on textbooks.

Look online on websites like Kijiji

The reason why I say Kijiji over Ebay or Amazon is because if you look on your local Kijiji you can actually meet up with the person who is trying to sell the books to you.

I had to buy textbooks for a course and when I went to the bookstore to buy then it would have cost me $300 for 4 USED books. I was like no way am I spending that much on books if I don't have to.

So after looking on Kijiji and finding a person who was selling the 4 textbooks for a whooping $130 and I made sure the books were the same edition, same author that my course required. The books were also in GREAT condition, no highlighting marks or rips or anything.

So I saved $170. $170 that I could spend on other books or clothes or whatever.
